Salted box mod Coil in Bristol: the review shortlist
Salted in Bristol: 24 units tested over 5 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Bristol.
What salted costs in Bristol
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Bristol that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within £3.21 per 10 ml.
The honest read on salted: 24 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: salted in Bristol works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted box mod really costs in Bristol
If you are looking at salted in Bristol, the first question is not strength. It is whether the box mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested salted in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 24 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a salted bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where salted goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why salted tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle. Shipping of nicotine to Bristol runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Is salted legal to sell in the UK?
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
How long does salted in a box mod last?
In Bristol we measured 5 to 24 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
