How to tell a good box mod from a repack
We run blackcurrant the same way in Bristol: same box mod, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.

The short version: blackcurrant in Bristol works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a blackcurrant box mod really costs in Bristol
Blackcurrant prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Bristol that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within £3.26 per 10 ml.
How we tested blackcurrant in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Bristol accept nicotine freight.
- Mixing blackcurrant with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised £39 entry kit as the real cost when refills run £3.26 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should blackcurrant start at?
Start at whatever the UK allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
How long does blackcurrant in a box mod last?
In Bristol we measured 4 to 10 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does blackcurrant taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the blackcurrant blend itself harsh.
